Series 3 Episode 5 - What did you enact?
Pascalle reveals all for love as Loretta makes her erotic masterpiece. But can Cheryl and Bruce be kept out of the movie business?
Pascalle announces wonderful news: she’s engaged to Bruce. At this, Loretta fears Pascalle might have already done the deed with Bruce, and therefore she’ll bail from the erotic movie, but Pascalle assures her sister: she and Bruce plan to lose their virginity on their wedding night, so she needs the cash for reconstruction more than ever. But doing the film without Bruce or Cheryl finding out will take some subterfuge…
Loretta claims to be busy with renovations to the video hut, (though it’s actually been turned into the set for her movie). Pascalle has cooked up that she’s been seconded to a rest home in Glenfield, and will therefore be too busy to see Bruce, or to assist Cheryl with preparation of the vazvan. (This is an engagement ritual: where a feast is prepared and sent to the groom’s parents). Cheryl grumpily takes up the task, while seeking mutton and weird spices, and also playing counsellor to Munter who fears Kasey is pushing him away. Cheryl investigates and finds the reason: Kasey’s Bahama Triangle problem (she takes good men and turns them bad). Cheryl suggests Munter give her some space, but his appeal that he is a good man, only makes Kasey insist she’s over men for life.
At least I saved him from the Bahama Triangle.Kasey
Meanwhile, on the movie, things are tense between the producer (Hayden) and obsessed director (Loretta). Apart from being too busy to have any real-life sex, Loretta has also decreed that there will no sex in the movie, because it’s erotica for women. But when slutty-costume designer Kasey seems to be something of an expert on what’s hot, Hayden hires her as a consultant on the film.
Meanwhile, Pascalle is having deep doubts about the movie, and living a lie, which causes a fight with Loretta. As Bruce is having problems and admits to Grandpa that he can’t wait until his wedding night. Grandpa tries to counsel him through this by getting him pissed. But when Bruce sees Pascalle being comforted by Hayden, he forms dark conclusions. Which are only compounded when Grandpa admits that Hayden was once Pascalle’s boyfriend…
At this point, all roads lead to the Video Hut – where Munter is to return videos with spice-seeking Cheryl; and an angry Bruce is on the warpath. Inside, Kasey is proving her erotic worth by coaching a reluctant Pascalle through a lesbian scene, when Cheryl is heard by all, then Munter walks in – only to get the wrong idea. He now sees why Kasey is over men. As Kasey tries to explain this, Bruce is after Hayden – who finesses Bruce with the rest home excuse, but then has to whip Pascalle away to a rest home in Glen Innes Where Bruce admits to Pascalle that he’s lied about not wanting to have sex before the wedding, and Pascalle in turn admits that she’s not a virgin – which releases her from needing to do the film.
With her film in tatters, Loretta plays grumpy cupid to Kasey and Munter, but now gets the news that Pascalle is out of the movie. By the end, love triumphs for Kasey and Munter; Bruce and Pascalle; and Loretta thinks she might be able to salvage something of her film.
And Cheryl, Grandpa and Falani deal to the vazvan in the most appropriate way: they eat it. Though Van, by the way, is still miserable.
