Series 3 Episode 10 - These Feats So Crimeful

The Wests take sides as Judd faces trial, and Pascalle fears for the honour of her bridesmaid.

Thanks to Draska, Van is now working as a Doslic courier driver. He’s showing his gratitude for this by: hocking the van and its contents to Falani, then calling Draska for a ride home. Pascalle is appalled that Draska is allowing Van to treat her so badly. She urges Draska to show Van what’s what, so they take his lunch to the pub, where he’s flirting with slappers. Pascalle is once more appalled, when Draska shows no fighting spirit in the face of this rudeness. But when she urges Draska to dump Van, Draska turns on Pascalle instead.

The friends make up over Draska’s admission that she loves Van and wants to marry him, even though Pascalle can see this is a delusion. But as Van once again insults her bridesmaid and treats her badly, Pascalle has had enough. She beats him with muffin trays and gets upset that he’s forgotten what love means. She wants the old Van back. At this, Van comes to some realisation – and tells Draska it’s over. Draska takes this with dignity, knees him in the balls and is gone, the deal and her dreams in tatters.

Where there’s smoke, there could be Sparky.Judd

Judd, meanwhile, is counting down to his court case. His lawyer Des is confident they’ll win, but Cheryl and Judd aren’t about to count any chickens before they’re hatched. And things are tense with Jethro, who’s on the opposite side as a witness. Annoyed, Cheryl decides that she won’t be ironing his shirts again if he’s so disloyal. But now Jethro starts to feel some heat, as Hickey comes sniffing for information about the gang robbery. The police can’t prove their case against Judd without this.

At the same time, Judd gets offered a deal – but his pride and the loss of much of his super money mean he won’t do it. And now Hickey throws in a fresh complication. Sparky has been reported missing, and Judd, as the last person to see him, is under suspicion. With the police dilly-dallying, Cheryl decides the Wests will find Sparky.

They work out where Sparky might be, but the final piece of the puzzle is offered by an unlikely source, Grandpa. Judd is grateful for this, and about to seek Sparky when he’s pulled in for more questioning. So Cheryl and Loretta take on the search for Sparky, and eventually find him living rough in the bush, still painting, and now also naked. After some wrangling, Cheryl persuades him to return with her, though Judd is still worried. If Sparky decides to make another confession about the robbery, they’re all in shit . . .

Jethro meanwhile is under more pressure, with his records taken, and further warrants pending, the cops might finally nail him for his part in the robbery. At this, he and Judd reach some kind of truce.

But now Sparky is back. To Hickey’s disappointment he has been well coached by Loretta and Cheryl, and reveals nothing of the robbery. Hickey, however, hasn’t given up. And – seeing that Jethro is under threat, and knowing what this will mean to Cheryl – Judd makes a decision. He puts aside his pride, and takes the deal.

So Judd is now a free man, though not exactly a rich one. Jethro is back on better terms with his mother. And Sparky has come to stay…
