Everyone is down on Loretta, the pet killer, as Cheryl puts her back out, and Pascalle gets the horror news that her show has been canned. Wolf has problems of his own: work on Jorgensen Ave is stalled because Sparky is a mess. Pascalle is sympathetic to Sparky, but has bigger problems, like caring for a difficult patient and a baby with a lack of painkillers and groceries. She dispenses brisk wisdom to Sparky, as Wolf arrives to get him back on the job. In this he fails, but he finds Cheryl is flat on her back, and Pascalle over-burdened. Cheryl and Pascalle spurn his offers of assistance, but Wolf sees a golden opportunity to get back in . . .
Sheree is angry to find that Wolf will not be back because of Cheryl’s back, but Van and Munter progress the plumbing, hoping to cheer her up. Their efforts only make her cry, so Van does his best to offer comfort.

Meanwhile, Pascalle is angry when Loretta again refuses to help with Jane, so she’s forced to ask Grandpa for assistance. Wolf faces off against Loretta, as Kasey and Rochelle’s attempts to cheer Cheryl only make her feel worse. Wolf arrives to face Rochelle’s ire over Lloyd’s boxing training. On the plus side, he gets rid of the visitors, and is bearing painkillers, so Cheryl is forced to tolerate his presence. Pascalle is peeved to find Wolf again in the house, but when he hears about the cancellation of her show, his indignation and then support cause her resistance to crumble – and they bond over the evil that is Loretta. Wolf offers Loretta one last chance to make amends, but she is unrepentant.
As – Cheryl’s efforts to avoid Pascalle’s tender care uncover something disturbing. Baby Jane, last seen with Grandpa, has disappeared. When Pascalle finds that Grandpa left her with Sparky, she freaks, though doesn’t tell Cheryl. Grandpa gets Judd on the case to track the missing pair, though Judd does pause to sympathise with Cheryl. Wolf now returns bent on the final solution for Loretta. So she returns to find all her stuff on the street. She finds she’s being thrown out, but still refuses to bow to her father. Before she goes, she visits Cheryl to lob a couple of grenades – that Wolf may not be a West, and that Jane is missing. Cheryl is hopping mad (though still cannot get up) and Wolf gets on the case to seek Jane.
Van’s attempts to cheer Sheree make her more disturbed. He’s just about calmed her, when Wolf calls to announce that he’ll be home late because of a family ‘crisis’. Since a Wolf/Cheryl crisis often ends in a root, Sheree is not happy at all.
At West Central, Pascalle persons the phones as Wolf and Judd compete to find Baby Jane and Sparky. Judd has found that they’re now in the company of one Kilda Norris, but Wolf knows her. And now Cheryl rises from her bed of pain. She walks! As Wolf arrives to find Judd at Kilda’s house, but there’s no Jane. A mysterious woman has already claimed her – none other than – Loretta! But, this turns out not to be the long awaited moment of baby bonding, and she’s still moving out. But Sparky has found a new calling: to go forth and procreate.
At the end of it all, there is détente between Wolf and Cheryl, but Judd seems to have won the round. And Wolf now finds there’s been a disaster at Jorgensen Ave. Van and Munter are highly aggrieved to be wrongly blamed, as we find that the real culprit is Sheree. And with this crisis, she now has Wolf’s full attention…
