Series 4 Episode 15 - Affection! Pooh!

When Judd stands accused, Cheryl fights dirty. And Pascalle finds inspiration in a parallel universe.

Judd’s day begins with a visit from the police, his girlfriend Zoe no less, who wants him to come down to the station in connection with some robberies – all perpetrated on businesses protected by Judd security. Cheryl hears of this as Judd comes to deal to the real culprit. He’s sure that it’s Grandpa, his lovely assistant on the security jobs. But Grandpa hasn’t been seen in ages. Cheryl is driven to seek information from the pariah, aka Loretta – who reveals that Grandpa is on an ooky quest to conquer the virtue of Ngaire Monroe.

Cheryl makes the connection here and confronts Ngaire in order to stop Ted. But when she reveals her intervention to Judd, he is not pleased, in fact, he doesn’t need or want Cheryl’s assistance. Cheryl, undeterred, stakes out Grandpa’s caravan. Grandpa has been on another job and now brings offerings to his beloved in order to claim his next reward. And Ngaire warns him that it may be safer not to go home.

A woman’s handbag is like a portal to a parallel universe.Hayden

Meanwhile, an accident involving Pascalle’s handbag has led her, with a little help from Hayden, to an incredible new idea, a revolutionary new handbag. But Sheree has spied the closeness between Hayden and Pascalle and warns Nicky that he now has competition for Pascalle. Nicky doesn’t take this entirely seriously, then realises he needs to up the ante fast. Pascalle pitches her idea to Rochelle and Kasey. Rochelle is non-plussed, but Kasey becomes an enthusiastic disciple.

Nicky cleverly starts to raise doubts about Hayden and his interest in the idea. In this he gets unwitting support from Loretta, who hates Hayden. Hayden now proposes some costly product assessment, as Sheree and Nicky are quick to pour scorn. And Nicky organises his own focus group, which proves that Pascalle’s idea is pure genius. She is grateful, and he reveals his interest in her is more personal than business, and encourages her to believe that she can do this alone. Inspired, Pascalle cuts her ties with Hayden and makes deal terms with Kasey. Then she returns to thank Nicky for his advice . . . Mission accomplished.

Cheryl is frustrated in her stake out, then gets a tip-off from Loretta that Grandpa’s about to return home. Cheryl chases Grandpa and an undignified tussle ensues. Judd is threatened by an angry Mr Doslic, as Cheryl suggests maybe it’s time for Judd to shop the old man to the cops. Judd refuses, as he’s worked out the way to catch Grandpa. Unfortunately, it’s a plan the cops may also have twigged to.

Cheryl talks turkey to Ngaire to get her to stop this game – and finds that Ngaire is fond of Grandpa. Cheryl suggests that if this is the case, she should stop treating him badly. Judd catches Grandpa, who insists this is all for love and Judd should understand. But now the pair of them are nearly caught by the police. Grandpa makes an undignified escape and returns to Ngaire empty handed and feeling he’s failed. As Judd finds Cheryl has broken into his place, to check he’s okay. Finally he believes that she does care, and it’s all back on at last.

But now Cheryl finds her advice to Ngaire has had a surprising outcome. Ngaire has decided to put aside the games and – Grandpa has proposed and Ngaire accepted. They are engaged to be married.
