Series 4 Episode 14 - Rest her soul
Jesus wants Baby Jane, but Cheryl isn’t so sure, as Judd sets out to save Kasey from the Bahama Triangle.
Cheryl is out with Jane when she runs into an acquaintance, Bernadette. As Bernadette admires the baby, Cheryl is increasingly angry. Bernadette is none other than Hayden’s sister, and it’s clear she knew nothing of his role in the making of Jane. Now Hayden appears, press-ganged by his sister to take an interest. But Bernadette also wants Jane baptised as a Catholic. Cheryl isn’t about to be bullied, especially by Hayden and gives them the short shift. Grandpa is pleased, but Pascalle likes the idea of a Christening. Loretta reacts angrily when Hayden visits looking for assistance, but she’s more shaken than she appears.
Meanwhile, Judd has had a worrying tip-off from Zoe. It seems Kasey has been buying pseudo eph for Dane. Judd is pleased that Munter is disturbed and hopes Munter will intervene. Kasey herself is a mess, and angry with Sheree over Nicky’s actions. This results in a fight, which Kasey loses. Judd is annoyed to find that Munter has done nothing about Kasey, and loses patience with his pseudo-son. It’s time he moved out. Judd takes his concerns to Cheryl, who is worried, then angry to hear Kasey has used Hoochie cheques. But she’s touched that Judd continues to care. When Cheryl can’t convince Kasey to leave Dane, she fires her.
Heaven sounds a lot nicer than limbo.Pascalle
Hayden decides Pascalle is his only ally and lobbies for her help. But Pascalle has her own agenda: if Hayden wants her help, he has to get to know Baby Jane. Hayden submits to her demands, but Cheryl is unimpressed to find Pascalle has gone behind her back. This is the argument Pascalle has been spoiling for, because she feels unappreciated. Cheryl pretends to listen, but then Loretta arrives and demands that Cheryl reject Hayden and also the Christening, because there is no such thing as God. Cheryl is not about to be told what to do by Loretta and does a complete about face. Jane will be christened after all. At this Pascalle is even more aggrieved, and gives Cheryl a chart read about the way she’s dealing with life: laying down the law; throwing people out if they don’t agree with her; generally not seeing the good things under her nose. As a result of this, Cheryl is forced to reassess, but the Christening is still full steam ahead.
Munter is aggrieved that Judd still plans to throw him out and eventually decides to act, but only for the car. As he tells Kasey she needs to get away from all this, she is thrilled that he might care, but Dane is in the mix, and to convince Kasey, Munter is forced to reveal that the cops are onto them. Judd is not impressed. Kasey comes to make peace with Cheryl, and then says farewell to Munter. She’s taken his advice and is leaving town. Judd and the lads are frustrated: they can see she wanted to be stopped. Munter, fed up with all the advice, walks out. Aaron is determined to help, and Aaron arrives in Muffy to steal Dane’s car, when Munter also appears. He fights Dane for Kasey’s honour, and then finally makes that heartfelt appeal.
Loretta finds the baptism is going ahead, but Grandpa isn’t prepared to help. Then Pascalle finds Loretta trying to kidnap baby Jane. Pascalle is perplexed, but as Loretta defends, her heartbreak and anguish over Hayden tumbles out. Pascalle now knows why she has rejected Jane – and Loretta has reached her nadir. Alone and rejected by all except Grandpa, she sees that maybe she’s stuffed things up.
Everyone is thrilled that Kasey and Munter are reunited, and Judd is again a hero. Cheryl knows she still loves him – and she let the good one go.
