Emma asks: hello love ur show we are late starters and have just finished 2nd series can we buy series 3 and 4? we are addicted its my fav show, when does series 5 air?? love u all ur biggest fan!!

Hi Emma,

Series one – four are available on DVD in New Zealand retail outlets and online. Series one – three are also available for purchase in Australia (four will be released very soon).

If you’re overseas, our FAQ section has links to online stores where you can purchase the series (e.g. Real Groovy, Gumboot).

Series five recently finished production and is due to air on TV3 in the coming months. We’re asked about the start date a lot, but it’s completely up to TV3 – not us, the makers of the programme.

Once it is announced, we’ll put it on this site so you’ll be the first to know.

Cheers!

Emma says: i am such a critic at heart and i try to analyse the production elements and storylines, and your work is genius. It truly is. The characters didn’t even need to convince me, i believe them, you have built them individually and subtly at times. Other times you get smacked in the face by a charaters perspective. I am so impressed. I want you to feel proud that every one in my family has become closer because we all share a love for Outrageous Fortune. Before we had nothing to talk about, (honest) now we update and share and deeply discuss the charaters we now feel are a part of our lives. Thankyou, thank you, thankyou!!

Samantha asks Robyn: Hi Robyn, I just wanted to join the minority nd say you do the most amazing job on the show i have been watching the series till like 3am most mornings (thank god for the people in nz who sent all 4 seasons to me n the uk) anyway, you are my mate tims favourtie actress and id have to agree with him, he is currently doing a film degree in welly, is there any pointers you could give me to pass on to him about being in the industry? Cheers

To stay in this industry you need a hide of leather to withstand all the public criticism, an unshakable love of what you are doing (and not where it will get you) and a clear understanding of why you are doing it your way and no one else’s. Also take advice and listen. It’s all good!

Tom asks Robyn: Hey Robyn, If i can ask how did you get into the television industry and what experience do you need to pull off a character like yours?

20 years experience! My first professional job was Jan 1988. Prior to that I’d trained at Toi Whakaari, the NZ Drama school for 2 years.

Shaneka asks: Hello, you are my most fav actor on tv. What makes you so inspirational to other people?? Why did you chose to be an actor?

Me inspirational? Don’t know to be honest. I love what I do but other than that I consider myself to be a pretty straight forward individual. If people find that inspirational that’s great!

I chose to be an actor because I loved it and was good at it.
