Shane asks: r people able to walk around the west house if they know were it is??

Hi Shane,

Unfortunately no. We don’t film inside the real house as it’s a private residency. Too much attention and disrespect of the residents’ privacy could jeopardise our ability to film there so we discourage visiting the house.

We do all the inside scenes in a studio.

Thanks for your support.

Ann asks Antonia: Where did the wardrobe department get your “wedding” dress from? I think you are the best character on Outrageous!

Hi,

Thanks! Our wardrobe department got the dress from Cybele.

Josh asks: hey love the show is it dificult when filming to make it look like jethro and van are sitting next to each other? also do you really smoke joints when your filming? or are they fake?

Hi there,

The twin stuff is very technical, but we’ve been doing it for six series now! You can listen to the episode 11 DVD commentary on the series five DVD for further details.

No, the actors don’t smoke real joints. They smoke Honeyrose herbal cigarettes.

Rhys asks: Hi There, Have you ever considered doing an episode which takes place in the past…e.g Cheryl’s and Wolf’s Wedding, Judd’s 1st raid at the West house, Rita’s death..things like that

Hi there,

Not exactly…but we have had flashbacks in past episodes and aren’t opposed to having more…

Simon asks: There is a lot of food mentioned on the show with varying appreciation – probably enough for a cookbook. Cheryl’s famous fish pie, I know, is already published in the West Family Album, but there is also Kelsie’s Eggplant Thing anh her Spicey Chicken Thing; Van and Munta’s Seafood medly (paua and “pipis” – Munta does the cooking and Van does the drinking or something I guess); Pascalles fish pie; Munta’s Mum’s Afghans (which would need to be um sanitised; Wolf’s muffins; Ray Judd’s multi-kai hangi, and so on. It would probably be possible to create a special westie-style dish appropriate for each of the characters. I’m collecting recipes for my own amusement but cannot really use the show to tell people about them. Um – there is supposed to be a question … um: is there likely to be an official cookbook of the show?

Hi Simon,

A great question – but at this stage it’s not something we’re working on. The recipes for Munter’s cookies, the eggplant thing and Rochelle’s party dip are also in the official book (along with the fish pie recipe).

If this was to happen, our writers would be the ones having to generate the content (or make up the recipes!) and unfortunately we don’t currently have the time/resources for such a project.

Thanks for your support!
