    i fucken hate ted for that!! hes now my most hated character, i hope he dies.
    Gerard shouldve cracked his jaw, knocked out his teeth, broken his nose and fractured his skull for that.

    Ted is as cute as hell...sitting across that table calling Gerard all those rude names.....just wickedly delightful.....the spit was more than i needed....but...hell....why not...gerard is a dick.

    i like him, i think he is a dick, but i like that he is out to get law and order seen to even if he has to bend the law to do it.  I just find him aggressively annoying and want to smack the hell out of him.....or even better....watch ted spit on him...lol.... and vern is only a possibility...Ted is still the main contender....he fed and clother little Wolfie...and taught him the trade...show some respect for the greatest safe cracker in NZ..after all...Ngaire did ;)

    I wonder if the crime Gerard is trying to solve has nothing to do with Garth. Yeah, that's a crime, but not THE crime he came to Auckland for.  (The Batman factor again.)

    i really love the fact that Ngaire gets turned on about her man going out to work.  She must have been lost as a criminal widow, and now she has the best safe cracker in the business as her new man and she is in her element.  Why cant older people be randy? Why is it young folk think that you have to be beautiful and young to want sex? I love that Ted is getting some good loving, he deserves it.  I think their relationship is great.  I went from really disliking Ngaire to just loving the acid humour and haughty dignity she portrays...I love that she rubs almost everyone up the wrong way.  I hope she makes amends with Pascalle because I liked that there was at least one member of the family that liked her.
    The spit WAS gross...and a bit over the top...but Grampa's entire character is a bit over the top.  and if Ngaire's nipples helps keep Ted's fingers nimble....then so be it.

    I really heard Ted say "fudge-packing nancy boy" in the S5 trailer, so did Ted insult Gerard twice?  Was it changed?  Maybe he'll be back for questioning and insult him again.  Did Ted say anything about Munch?

    The spitting made me feel sick- very unimpressed. I hate spitters!! My feelings are not as harsh as Cornelius' but I'm definitely very pissed off with Ted for being such a prick. All he had to say was "West's don't dob" (I was actually waiting for that) but it didn't happen.

    As far as the spit goes.
    I thought it was funny and it didn't bother me.
    Even though I like Gerard and I'm one of his biggest fans.
    He brings a lot to the show, when he's actually in it.

    I dont like spitting either...i think it is the grossest insult of all...but Gerard wasn't really taking the "West's don't dob" seriously....Grandpa sure made him realise he was barking up the wrong tree trying to get grandpa to dob!
    as TheGarden said, its not the spitting we applaude...it is who was spat on....and for me, the point is more...who DID the spitting. Noone else would have got away with it, (i mean,....me thinking it is marginally acceptable)...ted carried it off because of his character.

    i thought it was pretty disgusting but istil found it funny not the actual spitting but the way he did it it was so ted. just like that ep when he pissed off the balcony and then hickey stood in it usually it would be pretty gross but the way granpa does his stuff he just makes it funny.

    I agree. I was pretty stoked. I had one of my laugh at everything and jump around the house moments... You know the sort.

    That Spit was the awfullest thing Ted has ever done, I felt a bit sick watching that sicker than when he wrote on the cell wall with shit....... I hate spitting and that was the grossest spit ever...
    Do think Gerard is a prick and deserved it but didnt like watching it... Now Pissing on him Laughing i liked that.

    I agree with you there, but I watched the commentaries and felt a bit better when they explained that it wasn't real spit they used when filming and it was flicked on charles measure (gerard) with a spoon and not actually spat on him.

    I know what you mean, I felt mildly traumatised when I first saw it, and now I just Fast Forward past it on the DVD cos I don't wanna watch it again.
