OK, so who from the forums is planning on attending the Outrageous Fortune session on Saturday September 12 from 4.30-5.30 at the Titirangi War Memorial Hall, 500 South Titirangi Road?
The show's creators, Rachel Lang and James Griffin, will be there along with Robyn Malcolm. They will be discussing the show and there will also be a Q&A session with the audience.
If you come along, let us know here first and also be sure to introduce yourself on the day.
If you can't come along (which is really only excusable if you live in another city or country), please feel free to post questions here and we'll try and include them in the session. -

Ok I'm going to sound like a broken record, lol but ask them if they ever would bring the Wests to Australia for one off special or a few episodes? Or if not that a Go Girls cross over since Rachel will be there lol

Not in Auckland :-( Hope some people from here make it though. Will it be taped - would love to listen to the Q&A.
I would like to know
1. if it has been decided if series 6 is the last (mostly because I really need to be prepared and give myself time to cope if it is and I hope it isn't)
2. Which characters are the writers favourites?
3. Has the audience reaction to characters or events changed the plans or influenced what happened?
4. Who is it that knows 'Hamlet' so well, that the titles of the episodes are so descriptive of what happens?
5. Can we have a clue for what happens in series 6? (I'm guessing no, but had to ask)

My questions are:
Does Sheryl need a body double for her love scenes with Judd....i would be willing to sacrifice my time for the good of the programme....of course.... im a fair bit chunkier than Sheryl....and about a foot taller than Sheryl....but we can work around that.
Also would love to know if the actors have any input into the storylines....i.e. suggestions about what could happen, or how they interpret their characters response to what is in the script...Obviously it is the directors call, but I am really keen to know how much the writers/director etc listen to the people that actually play the characters, because it seems the actors know their character best (after playing it for so long...initially it was the writers/producers/directors baby.) -

This is one of the few times I regret having moved down to the Mainland from West Auckland six years ago!
Of course, the beaches out West are still the best in the country as far as I'm concerned.
Great questions east and smee. Body double for love scenes with Judd!! Couldn't stop smiling to myself, smee!

If you can convince Antony to be there, I'll be in the front row!!!
Is the Outrageous Fortune part just between 4:30 and 5:30pm or do you have to get there at 2pm? -

@OF Forever:
Antony is flying to Korea today for the Seoul International Drama Awards this weekend as he has been nominated for an award. He won't be making it to Titirangi unfortunately.
And you can just come for the OF session at 4.30pm.

I would love to know where Rachel and James get their ideas from for the episodes. I get that West Auckland "inspires" them, but things like having Ted piss on cops, the jobs that are done every season- especially season 4 Jethro and Loretta stealing coins and framing Wolf, and how they manage to write Wolf in and out of every season, it must get frustrating for them not knowing when Grant will be available.
I wish I could be their this weekend, but the darn ocean seperates us. lol. -

I'm Diffinetly going to be there. I'm looking forward to it.
@Kakapo
I've been cake decorating all my life and had just finished my cake decorating certificate so was looking for my next challenge, while watching a episode of OF I thought thats it I'm going to do a OF cake, just because I'm a huge fan. I had no idea what I was going to do with it once it was done but i wasn't really thinking about that at the time I started. I don't think anyone has ever done one before. I googled it to see if there were any outrageous fortune cakes but I could find any so decided I would do one.
I handmade all the characters out of icing and even made the tool guy van. It took me way over 50 hours and is the biggest cake I have ever made so far.
This link is to a OF bebo fan page someone has created, there is a picture of it on there, so hopefully you can view it

So did anyone else go to this? I went and it was really great. Rachel & James are so inspiring and Robyn is such a lovely person.
There wasn't much talk about what season six had in store for us, however they did mention there was lots of sex as they have had feedback from fans and others that season 5 didn't have much sex in it. LOL
Just reading through some of the questions above.
They didn't say anything about taking the Wests to Australia, but someone in the audience asked how well it was doing in other countries and they said it has really taken off in Australia which was a bit of a surprize as the Australian market can be quite hard. They also talked a little bit about "honest" and how the USA and UK had brought the rights etc to make there own spin off.
East Of Eden, some answers to your Questions
1. if it has been decided if series 6 is the last (mostly because I really need to be prepared and give myself time to cope if it is and I hope it isn't) There was no mention about Season 6 being the end, but there was also no talk about Outrageous Fortune carring on for more seasons. So wasn't really asked / covered
2. Which characters are the writers favourites? No one asked this. One audience member asked which character they thought had changed the most over the 5 seasons.
3. Has the audience reaction to characters or events changed the plans or influenced what happened? A similar question was asked about the fans and how they intperut the charcters and Robyn answered with " The fans and viewers really get involved with the charcters and really feel / care for them and what happens to them in the story" not her exact words.
4. Who is it that knows 'Hamlet' so well, that the titles of the episodes are so descriptive of what happens? This was discussed but I don't really remember much as I was laughing at the titles they were reading out
5. Can we have a clue for what happens in series 6? (I'm guessing no, but had to ask) Sex Sex and More Sex hahaha -

Smee2004, Your question was asked.
Also would love to know if the actors have any input into the storylines....i.e. suggestions about what could happen, or how they interpret their characters response to what is in the script...Obviously it is the directors call, but I am really keen to know how much the writers/director etc listen to the people that actually play the characters, because it seems the actors know their character best (after playing it for so long...initially it was the writers/producers/directors baby.)
The response being that at the begining of the season the whole crew and cast sit down and the writers explain their thoughts for the season and where each charcter is heading etc. The cast are then allowed to put in their imput at this stage.
Antony and Tammy joked about asking for a car, which is why they ended up getting one. I suppose if you don't ask you don't get -
