Locations & art department: Tutaekuri Bay old vs new

It's been bugging me for quite a while now and I was wondering if anyone knows the location if the Tutaekuri Bay the second time it was in OF? I know the first time during the Christmas special S2 it was filmed at Sullivans Bay, Mahurangi West but the second time it was in the show, when Cheryl goes there after Tama's death in S5, it is a completely different place. It's probably not that noticable but because I live near Sullivans Bay it really got at me. In the original the camping ground doesn't have that many trees in a block (where Cheryl parks in S5) they are more spread out along the length of the beach, and the grass ends at a bank that drops down to the sand (seen in S2 when Draska and Aurora are fighting etc) Also there is a couple of islands just off the shore, to the right when looking out to sea and there are a few trees just along the shoreline (like the one Munter sleeps under). Oh and the beach wasn't as long and didn't curve around as much. I tried to figure out where the S5 version was by the land out across the sea but I just can't place it. It must be some kind of park though beacuse it seems to have a walking track. Can anyone help? Tamar?

Good so I'm not nuts. I don't remember hearing it on any commentary though...oh well now we wait

I don't know. I wish they hadn't. It just looks wrong! And Sullivans is way cool, I'm going to go camping there this summer with my mates and annoy Ranger Graham or maybe just play some Firing Squad. It's such a cool game, especially when improvised with Jandals instead of the vortex thing. Very painful but it doesn't quite make the same sound :)
I suppose it didn't matter too much that it was a different location because they only moved between the carpark and the one patch of beach. It definitely wouldn't have worked if there was more variation in the scenes though because people wouldn't have got that it was meant to be Tutaekuri bay.

My mates used to play it at school in the common room it was crack up! And everyone that didn't watch the show thought they were nuts :)

We played it as a warm up at a school production practice! I love the old Tutaekuri shame they didn't use it!

Yeah Mclovin! I noticed it was different and it's annoying! They should have used the same place (continuity).

When Loretta guards the (non-existing) dotterels for Ranger Graeme, is that filmed at Sullivan's Bay as well? It looks more like one of the West Coast beaches with the sand dunes and the bush in the background? Any ideas anyone?
