again, thanks smee.  dumping on any viewer of a show you are promoting is not a good look.  obviously i have said one thing too many (& likely i am hitting a nerve)...this forum has become as unenjoyable as OF itself. 

If the show is unenjoyable and the forum is unenjoyable, most of the people on this forum do live in a free country and you don't have to watch the show or participate here if you do not want to.

Not that I want you to stop or to leave. But you don't have to stay if it's that unbearable to you.

I, on the other hand, do have to stay here and hang out with the weirdos, the whingers, the ravers and the spammers on a daily basis: "we need more photos", "we need updates", "why is this bit not working", "there's not enough of this character", "that storyline is dumb", "there's too much of that character", "the forum is too quiet", "who are all these new people on the forum", "what was the song in that episode", "where is that dress from", "the show sucks now", "when's wolf coming back", "when's series 6 playing in Australia", "when's series 6 on DVD", "when is series 7 coming", "can actor x come to my party in character", "we want a web chat", "who's that actor", "can I be an extra", "the show is not the same", "bring back aurora", "my favourite character is...", "i hate...", "the west house address is...".

I have to read every single post on here. I have to do it every single day.

Thank you for 6 seasons of Outrageous Fun.
I regret that you went with this storyline. Wayne is sleeping with his lover's daughter under her roof and behind her back. That gives him all the sliminess of a Don Draper ("Mad Men") or House ('House M.D.") without the redeeming complexity. The writers keep saying that Wayne was never meant to be sickeningly good, and I agree. Wayne's appeal was in his attempt to do the right thing... but they never wrote him as a saint. A saint does not try to defraud an insurance company for a couple hundred thou by breaking his own wrist. What they have done, however, is to fly in the face of everything they have set up (and made appealing) about the character. In fact, for a lot of us, they have made him irretrievably repulsive in a way that Jethro is not -- or they would have done, except that the manipulation of this character toward a sexy storyline is so blatant and artless as to be completely unbelievable. And I have to say, I am pretty tired of the writers protesting that it didn't come out of nowhere because they've been dropping hints about it since the top of the season. Sure: you could also pepper your writing with clues that you're about to turn a flawless diamond into a giant steaming turd, but that doesn't mean it's believable when it happens. OR that it was a good idea.

And by the way, to all the people who have been writing that the Wayne/Pascalle bonkfest is, not only believable and sexy, but furthermore that it is neither incestuous nor in any way ethically dodgy: gosh, I hope none of you ever has stepchildren. Or adopted children. Or a partner who is away from home a lot...

I know I shouldn't engage, but...what the hell. Just coz something in Tvland appeals to me as entertainment doesn't mean I'd accept it in real life. I liked the movie Kick-Ass, partly because I thought the 10 year old girl running round calling people c*nts and cutting peoples heads off was effing hilarious, but I'd still ring cyfs if I saw a freaky little kid behead someone, even if I <i>was</i> impressed by her wicked cool swords and mean fighting skills. If I might offer a nice alternative for anyone riled up by OF and the poor moral example it sets, I've heard that 7th Heaven is a family-friendly show that teaches wonderful moral lessons and, except for a few instances of (ghastly and evil) pre-marital sex, really only features socially acceptable relationships for the viewing pleasure of ages 3+. Caution not suitable for children aged 36 months or less. May contain small parts.
