Season 6: So disappointed in the final...

Hey I gave my honest opinion on every episode in specifics lol

Overall if you look at the season as a whole from seeing it all now, it was pretty good and made sense and was a needed transition for the ending to work.

Subject to actor availability and funding etc.. they did pretty well

Is there anyone here you take seriously Kieran? Only curious. But I do understand where you're coming from regarding negativity, but who cares anymore? Time to move on?

What I AM taking issue with is the way negative criticism is handled, especially by the mods.

I agree with you here Kieran. And while I understand that it must be/have been frustrating for them to read the negative comments, I feel that moderators should do what their name implies - moderate. Something that I think hasn't happened much since Series 6 started. 
But I agree that it't time to move on, not because the show is dead or down but because I'd rather spend my energy on something more fruitful.

Actually we know where Wolf is, Brisbane or something, landscaping business with his half brother Gary bloody Savage. And wasn't necessarily a conclusion, if the future episode thing remains in the cards.

And Corny, I just might. My ultimate Outrageous fanvid is officially in production. Someone else started it, I'm gonna finish it. I think they did it on purpose because if I saw that it sucked, I'd step in, push them aside and do it myself. I hate reverse psychology. Anyhow, the vid will now have "themes", not the random scene mess the preview was back then. I'll use several different songs to match each theme. Love/romance - Outrageously Hilarious - Big ass Drama, with some filler music-less scenes in between for a short laugh. It's gonna be a huge thing and will take ages to finish, hopefully I'll have it here by the time 2011 starts......and no I'm not joking. I don't wanna rush it.
I will take musical suggestions, I'll probably create a thread for that.

Half of my recent behavioral problems can be attributed to a bad shoulder I've been sporting since Halloween, give me another week or so, I'll be as good as new. I'd like to say that it was my time of the month but sadly I don't have that luxury. My opinion of season 6 still stands though, as is my stance on the way criticism was handled. But having said all that, it's over n done with, and time to indeed move on and celebrate the delicious marvel that kept us going for 6 years.

I actually agree with you Kieran, absolutely, completely, 100% you are entitled to your point of view and to be outspoken about it, but what I find a bit bamboozling is that if someone doesn't like what YOU have to say, you get as antsy as you have accused the moderators of.  It goes both ways, you know?

Cool title text effects and excellent quality output, as long as you use the 3ivx codec for avi, and EasyX264 (free product) for mp4 encoding (youtube-ready).

@Lulu: Told you, it was my time of the month, my shoulder, my raging hayfever that goes into overdrive this time of the year and doesn't allow me much sleep (pills don't do shit for me), and my constant pc troubles. Had to reformat it twice in 2 weeks and the pain is reinstalling the whole bunch of software I got, can take hours.
Not to mention the 2 different antivirus ones that kept stuffing up my connection, first one forced me to once again reformat the damn pc because even after I uninstalled it, my connection was permanently disfigured. Anyhow after about 30 minutes of cursing, it works fine again. No substitute for experience.

Plus I think I've lost weight because my lovesock keeps sliding off..........wait wha? Oh yes yes, I'm not working on the video RIGHT NOW, I'm just putting ideas together for the music n stuff. I don't need to sit on the pc for that. Like I said, give it a week or so, I'll be as good as new. If you're talking about the change of heart, well there's been improvement in certain areas, that's why I'm not so focused on biting heads off. Feeling very inspired indeed, draw your own conclusions.

Remember when I said I didn't think Cheryl was really Cheryl in the final ep? Even Robyn agrees with me! listen to the commentary for this ep! lol

The scene when she comes in to talk to Van in his house when he's packing for Russia, Robyn says the dynamics had changed so much between those 2 I didn't know how to play Cheryl.

I assume? I only got the box set and they were on those discs, the bonus disc didnt work in my player I might add but it doesn't matter cause it wasn't really worth it lol

going off topic a bit, has anyone watched that new show The Walking Dead? Omg its awesome!! If one of the OF cast can get in on that for S2 they will be set! lol

WD is a great show. I normally don't get into "Zombies", but this show rocks.
It's based on a popular American indy comic-book.
Grant Bowler would make a great survivor.

Season 6 had its flaws but what season didn't. The Commentary on the last episode by Robyn, Antonia and Rachel was great and Robyn summed up a great series by saying that although she is alone she carries on and so does the family. And that the West family lives on and will have all the dramas and laughs that we have loved through six years of great New Zealand television.

For all of you asking why Wolf didn't come back it was because he had no real reason to. He was doing fine for himself in Perth and I'm sure he'd stay where he was even if he did know about Pascalle and Judd. And I think the ending was similar to The Sopranos ending for those of you who have seen it, there was nothing more to be said or done, All her kids were happy and her rules were broken at points but in the end everyone was above the law and just the way Cheryl wanted.

Hmm season 6 well what to say.
Not my favourite season but I didn't hate it. I actually kinda liked having Cheryl in prison, and only the occasional ep with her because it gave the chance to focus on the West kids and what they were up to. Though I rather enjoyed the Draska Cheryl eps in prison :)

The problem was that the story line was weak - there was no huge events that drew the audience in and that the season could be based around. Okay the first ep with Cheryl going to prison I really liked, but after that not much happened until 2nd to last ep when she got out - which was ridiculously easy for her to get out - why didn't Bailey just do that originally and it all would have been fine. I think they needed to do something a bit more with getting her out.

Didn't really like Bailey overall - could not watch the threesome scene it so grossed me out lol

Jethro got on my nerves. Usually I like him whether he's been evil or a bastard but him trying to be 'dad' annoyed me. I mean I can kinda understand it but he was just a prick. I may be forgetting something but when Grandpa got his 'crew' together and then him and Ngaire did that job and Jethro told him not to because he needed him not in jail cos he had something planned - well what was he referring to because I don't remember Jethro actually doing anything.

Van. So cute and got his happy ending which I was stoked about but it was so badly done. I mean he falls in love with this Russian chick he barely knows and can barely speak to, she's already engaged but then she marries Van. Just not believable enough.

Pascalle and Judd. Well you could actually see that this would kinda happen since the start of the season. However, in ep 9 Nicky flees and Pascalle is heart broken. She gets over it by the next ep pretty much then sleeps with Judd by ep 12. This just didn't fly with me - but Mandy the Mauler was awesome lol Ha reflecting on OF is it just me our is there heaps of exchanging of partners between family members:
Hayden was with Pascalle then Loretta
Nicky was with Loretta then Pascalle
Sheree was with Wolf then Jethro then Van
Judd was with Cheryl then Pascalle
And I suppose Wolf was with Cheryl then Sheree

The finale was actually one of my fav eps from the season and I think they ended it well. I mean as much as I disliked the Judd/Pascalle thing and Van/Elena (though they were cute) it was enjoyable to watch. Loretta becoming the new matriach, taking Cheryl's role, was the best bit I think. She really evolved over the season and became the most sensible one, and actually a good mother and wife, which you would not have thought after watching her abandon her child. And Jane was just perfect. Like always. The best actor on the show I think. So cute when Loretta, Hayden and Jane were dancing together at the end - made my day.

Loretta's dress... Usually I love her clothes, especially her own wedding dress - so suits her. But her browny red thing at Van's wedding... could have been better but I must admit it grew on me. And Elena was gorgeous.

I enjoyed the commentary for the finale with Rachel, Antonia and Robyn. Especially when Antonia could so see Cheryl's manipulation of Pascalle, trying to force her to work at Hoochie, and Robyn was totally on the other side saying she was being a good mother lol

And the last (or nearly last I can't remember) words of the show:
"But it was good. And you made it happen. It was all you."
I think that this summed it up quite nicely and the walking out onto the porch having a ciggie - a recurring moment that tied the season up and kinda showed how life still does go on - that all this shit has happened in their life but it really wasn't so bad and turned out okay...

The regulars may have picked up on this. What you said above is 100% what I thought about the season myself. Even down to your thoughts on Bailey getting Cheryl out of prison. Spooky. JG might remember my comments too lol.

Yes, all of the Wests have swapped partners. In the early stages of season 6 I was thinking that Judd was the only character not to be swapped. I now regret thinking that.

I think Jethro wanted Ted to stay out of prison so that he could steal those artifacts for him - the jade horse is the only one that springs to mind.

Why did get in canned after one pathetic season??? sorry but its was utter garbage with an unrealistic storyline and over acted tired looking actors IMO.

Season six was not as good but we always have seasons 1-4 :D to rewatch before the pascalle and wayne fiasco
