Q&A with Wesley Dowdell

  • Kelly asks Wesley: Hey Wesley. I am really glad to see Aaron hasa bigger part on the show these days, it adds a bit more humour to an already hilarious show. I thought the boom box scene with Pascalle was so cute, he is so desperate for her to love him. I saw Whero’s Net Net when it came to Gisborne a few months back. It was absolutely amazing, and you’re right, your character was the complete opposite to Spiller. I especially liked Blaire’s haka. I kept asking all the annoying questions about drama school haha. Do you ever look back at the days of your Pak n Sav ads and thank that foryour success, or do you just put it down to talent, hard work and dedication? I can’t wautto see more of Aaron in the future. Take care :D

    Heya Kelly,

Thank you for your message. That’s so cool you saw Whero’s New Net. I had a great time touring it and the cast and I really enjoyed Gissy! Haha, you still remember the Pak ‘n’ Save ads. They were good fun and a great learning experience but I don’t think of them as the reason for my recent good fortune in regards to acting work. I’m glad you like Aaron…….hopefully there’s more of the Spillernator to come!

    Cheers Kelly.

  • Kirsty asks Wesley: Whero’s new net and was blown away! you have so much talent! I was wondering if you have based aaron spiller on anyone person? as he seems far removed from you as a person, or you character in the play!

    Hey Kirsty,

Thanks, you are very kind and I’m glad you enjoyed the show. I haven’t based Aaron off anyone in particular but I have encountered people in my life that have Aaron qualities. I’ve loved touring ‘Whero’s New Net’ cause the character I play is almost the polar opposite of Aaron. Gay, Irish, trendy and intelligent! Ha!

Thanks again, hope you’re enjoying Season 5.
