Cheryl is 40ish, but prefers not to be seen as a number. She is practical and caring, but aggressive when she has to be. She sees her main role as a wife and mother. She believes in looking good, and supporting her husband. She believes in family values and respect. She also believes in regular carpet cleaning and the beneficial effects of aromatherapy. But now she is worrying about ‘The Future’ and what it holds for her offspring. Despite her efforts, they don’t seem to have the same values that she was brought up with: discipline, community, hard work. Something has to give – even if it means becoming a solo mother. Even if it means taking a job… an honest job.
