Van is Jethro’s twin brother and is identical except for the brains department. Whether this is to do with oxygen deprivation (four hours trapped in the neighbour’s discarded freezer) or alcohol syndrome (consumed hip flask of Jack Daniels when a toddler) no one knows. Dogged, loyal, determined, Van doesn’t care if people think he is thick – at least he’s out there, earning a living, keeping the family going. Unlike the rest of his family, Van is a man. A man who will dutifully follow his father’s instructions to uphold his family’s traditions.
